'La Noble Musique'
The Alta Cappella was the most important music ensemble during the late Middle Ages. Every court and city in Europe had its own Alta Cappella, which provided the music for a wide variety of events, from the tower signalling to the festive dance entertainment.
The Alta Cappella players learned and performed an impressive amount of music, some of which was so popular that it could be heard, in different forms and variations, all over Europe.
